Meet Amanda
April 8, 2026
Come with me on this journey.
It’s been a long week at work and you just want a night out with a close friend to catch up, have that drink you’ve been craving, laugh, and forget all about your stress.
Your friend suggests a nearby comedy club. You think, “Excellent!”
You put on that favorite outfit that makes you feel like you, spend seventeen minutes looking for parking, and arrive in the promised land. Your seat.
The lights dim, a comedian takes the stage, and starts his set.
And, then…
Crickets.

For the next thirty minutes, you watch as this poor performer totally bomb, one joke after another.
You feel for him! (But you also feel for yourself – how can you leave without bringing attention to yourself?)
After you and your friend catch a break and sneak out before the next performer, you talk about why the set was so bad.
The jokes weren’t offensive at all. In fact, he talked about pretty relatable topics! His kids, his job, movies, sitting in traffic.
You pinpoint that it wasn’t his material that made him bomb. It was his voice.
Monotone. He was completely monotone.
Every joke had the same cadence, every set up had the same intonation, and his punchlines were barely audible.
He could have had a great set, if only he’d added a little variety – a little spice – to his voice.
Vocal variety may not seem like a big deal, but when it comes to capturing an audience, it’s an absolute game-changer.
What’s in this vocal variety pack? We’ve got variation in pitch, volume, pace……and……pauses! These are the friends that will help you set you apart.
